Dr. Li is an Associate Professor of Human Genetics and Pediatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine. She completed her combined Pediatrics and Medical Genetics residency at Children's Hospital of Michigan/Wayne State University and her Medical Biochemical Genetics fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital/Harvard Medical School.

Since joining Emory in 2013 as a clinical and biochemical geneticist, Dr. Li has focused on diagnosing and treating inherited metabolic disorders and neurodevelopmental conditions. She currently serves as the Medical Director of the Emory Metabolic Clinic and the Medical Biochemical Genetics Fellowship Program Director. Her efforts have included advancing clinical approaches to identify and manage undiagnosed homocystinuria cases and defining novel clinical presentations of this condition.

Additionally, as Co-Chair of the Georgia Newborn Screening (NBS) Advisory Committee, Dr. Li plays a key role in developing, implementing, and follow-up of NBS for patients with Inborn Errors of Metabolism.

Dr. Li also leads multiple phase I/II and III clinical trials focused on developing innovative treatments to advance care for patients with genetic and metabolic disorders.
