Amy Witzel Flanagan

Originally from Texas, Amy Witzel Flanagan has called South Carolina home for the past eight years. While she has spent the majority of her recent years as a stay-at-home mom, she previously worked as a paralegal in the trademark and copyright arena.

Amy and her husband are now empty nesters, with two sons who attend the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). Throughout the years of raising their boys, she has remained actively involved in the community, serving on numerous boards and contributing to organizations including PTO, Booster Club, various neighborhood committees, the DTD House Corporation Board, and Women’s Club. She is obviously a serial volunteer, but values collaboration, service, and helping organizations operate efficiently and effectively.

In her spare time, Amy enjoys reading about true-crime stories, traveling, playing nine-hole rounds of golf, and visiting her boys in Oxford whenever possible. They are relatively new to the HCU community following her oldest son’s (Carson) initial misdiagnosis with Marfan Syndrome. During that time, she was very active with The Marfan Foundation and remains passionate about advocacy and support efforts. Amy looks forward to helping foster collaboration between the Marfan and HCU communities where meaningful connections and shared initiatives can be beneficial.
